Ravello is a beautiful, mountaintop village along the Amalfi Coast of Italy – a hidden gem among the more popular Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, and the Island of Capri. Ravello is a beautiful place for the many writers, artists, and musicians who have found refuge and inspiration there for centuries.
While its lush gardens, medieval history, and ancient stone pathways are what give it character, it is Ravello’s musical history and summer festival that are most notable, especially their Concerts at Dawn.
Ravello is known as the “City of Music” and has great appreciation for the composer, Richard Wagner, who visited there. Each summer, the music festival ensues with a full symphony orchestra playing on the terrace of Villa Rufolo, on a stage built out over the sea. It’s an experience that is one for each of the senses!
If you plan to visit the Amalfi Coast between the beginning of the months of July and September, be sure to secure some tickets!
