Weekly Market Commentary

The Markets

The market hates surprises, especially when the surprise comes from a central bank. Last week, the European Central Bank unexpectedly reversed course and took a more accommodative stance on monetary policy in an effort to encourage stronger European economic growth.

The Eurozone isn’t the only region feeling the pinch of weaker economic growth. China’s exports were down more than 20 percent in February. Analysts had expected a decline of about 5 percent. Concerns about the health of China’s economy have been growing over the past 12 months. With this as a backdrop I would not be surprised to see a middle ground being put together with the US and China. It seems to me both would benefit.

I just heard a lyric in a country song that I’ll pass on just for the fun of it. “Mind your own biscuits and life will be gravy”

Focus On The Positive

“Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don’t turn up at all.”
